Hansen Surfboards Teams up with Swamis Surfing Association in Support of its 20th Invitational Surf Contest
Hansen Surfboards is located at 1105 S. Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas, Calif., and is open Monday, Tuesday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Hansen Surfboards has teamed up with Swamis Surfing Association in support of its 20th Invitational Surf Contest as one of its major sponsors. Called “Return to The Reef 2014,” the contest will be held Oct. 18 and 19 in Cardiff, Calif.
“This is a perfect fit for us, especially as the Swamis Surfing Association is celebrating its 50th anniversary and because of how Hansen Surfboards got its start,” said Josh Hansen. “When Dad first moved here in 1958 from South Dakota, he slept in his prized blue Chevy panel truck in the old Swamis parking lot. It wasn’t long before he started shaping surfboards and then opened Hansen Surfboards. Swamis holds a lot of cool memories for our family.”
In fact, Hansen Surfboards has been a sponsor of the Swamis Surfing Association Invitational Surf Contest for three years running.

“We’re happy to be a part of it,” added Hansen. “I can’t imagine not being involved in some way.”
Located across Highway 101 from Swamis, Hansen Surfboards features The Boardroom, which carries hundreds of surfboards and surf accessories, and features knowledgeable sales associates to help customers find the perfect surfboard and gear to help them have the best surf experience possible. There’s also a sandal room featuring more than 6,000 pairs of sandals and shoes. The main store carries seasonal clothing and a large variety of boardshorts for men, and swimsuits for women and children, as well as home décor and gifts. Ladies’ sundresses and accessories are also available. The t-shirt wall features surf, local and Hansen Surfboards branded t-shirts. During the winter months, the store features snow gear and the latest skis, snowboards and accessories.

Just south of the main store is the new Rip Curl by Hansen’s store, where shoppers can check out the company’s best-selling Rip Curl bikinis, board shorts, wetsuits and accessories.
