Holiday Weekend Walk at San Elijo Lagoon

San Elijo Lagoon Guided Walk

Have some free time Memorial Day Weekend with family and friends? Discover San Elijo Lagoon. No visit is the same with daily tides and seasons.

With twigs in beak, busy birds prepare to nest at the lagoon. Birdsong is carried along coastal breezes. The wetland is abuzz with crawly, whizzing, and fluttering insects and birds over emerging blooms.

Beginning at San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center, this easy walk provides an overview of life between the tides. You might see mullet emerging from the surface of the water, or glimpse Osprey and Egrets hunting fish and invertebrates in the salt marsh. The ¼-mile loop trail is ADA compliant.
