La Costa Canyon's ASB Surprises Encinitas Business
High school students demonstrate act of kindness and gratitude.

Juice Stop owners Narendra and Nalini Kanji have quite a following, having been in business at the Encinitas Ranch Town Center location since the shopping development opened 18 years ago.
But the couple had no idea of just how much they are thought of and appreciated particularly among La Costa Canyon High School students. The school’s associated student body (ASB) recently surprised the small business owners with a visit to personally thank them for their kindness and ongoing community support.
The appreciation campaign, spearheaded by LCC ASB executive board member Renee Haerle and fellow ASB member Monica Bertha, is part of the class’ commitment of demonstrating gratitude and appreciation.

Inspired by a presentation from apparel company Dude. Be Nice, encouraging young people to build a positive community, the LCC students surprised the Kanjis with posters, flowers, and an overflowing tip jar letting them know how much they are appreciated.
The Kanjis know most of their customers by name and have a strong rapport among the students. The ASB students also acknowledged LCC’s athletic secretary Nancy Wease for her ongoing support and work for the school’s student athletes. The LCC ASB students plan to continue the campaign of positivity throughout the school year.
