Laying the Foundation for Success in High School, College And Beyond

March 25 Family Forum: 6:30 – 8 p.m. at San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas.

A panel of high school, college and business experts will discuss building academic, self-leadership and life skills needed to become resilient, resourceful and responsible young adults.

Dana Smith, Dean, Mira Costa College – Ms. Smith currently serves as the Dean of Letters & Communication Studies, supervising five academic departments. A former faculty at Mira Costa college, Ms. Smith oversees site administration for the San Elijo campus in Cardiff and leads the campus’ focus on transfers.

Michele Alcantara, Director of Human Resources, Scripps Hospital, Encinitas Ms. Alcantara oversees all human resource related issues, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, compliance reporting and policy administration. Ms. Alcantara’s work history includes working with start-up, electronics and banking industries.

Robert McPhee, Author, Founder of Heart Set, Inc. - Mr. McPhee provides speaking, coaching and consulting to individuals and businesses. Mr. McPhee works with organizations to help people sustain and improve productivity through changing business climates.
