LCC Advances in SoCal Regional Volleyball Tourney
Mavericks take three straight after dropping first game; Pacific Ridge falls in Division V play.

La Costa Canyon lived up to its No. 1 seed Tuesday night, advancing in Division II of the Southern California Regional girls volleyball quarterfinals with a 25-27, 25-19, 25-15, 25-20 win over visiting La Habra Whittier Christian.
Leading the Mavericks' attack was Jordan Robbins with 16 kills and 26 assists. Natalie Bausback had 10 kills and nine blocks, Brittany Abercrombie added 13 kills and Sydney Francis had 13 digs. Carly Cady served three aces.
The Mavericks (29-8) will host fourth-seeded La Salle of Pasadena (20-6) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the SoCal semifinals.

Second-seeded Bermuda Dunes Desert Christian topped Carlsbad's Pacific Ridge, the seventh seed in Division V, 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-14. Sophomore Natalie Ogg had nine kills for the Firebirds (13-8), who were making their first appearance in the state regionals.
The Southern California and Northern California Regional championships will be held at the home gym of the higher-seeded team on Tuesday, Nov. 29, with the regional winners meeting for the state title on Dec. 3 at Concordia University.
