MAD Day Event at Encinitas Library
Join Us for a MAD Celebration with the Mad Hatter's Magical Tea Party and Cre8 Art at the Encinitas Library on October 22nd.
You are invited to a MAD Day at the Encinitas Branch of the San Diego County Library on October 22nd, 2pm—4pm! The days activities will begin with the Mad Hatter’s Magical Tea Party! This interactive magic show is geared toward children five to twelve years old. Other activities include the chance to meet nine year old author Avila Joy Colanter, the author and illustrator of “Jasper and the Big Race.” Cre8 Arts will offer a take-home craft project and there will be face-painting! Snacks will also be provided for all participants.
MAD Day, also known as Make A Difference Day, is the largest national day of community service with individuals and organizations participating from every state in our country. Over one hundred chapters of Assistance League® (AL) participate in this event including Assistance League of Rancho San Dieguito (ALRSD) which services the communities of Encinitas, Solana Beach, Cardiff, Del Mar and Carmel Valley.
Assistance League has participated in this annual event by encouraging its chapters to conduct activities that result in a children’s book drive. This year, ALRSD has donated $2,000 to the Encinitas Library and their donation triggered a matching gift resulting in $4,000 that has funded new chapter books, eBooks and eAudiobooks for children in third through sixth grades.
