Man Accused of Shoplifting $700 Worth of Vitamins From Encinitas Drugstore
Breaking: The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is hoping someone recognizes him.
ENCINITAS, CA — Authorities are hoping someone in the public recognizes a man who allegedly shoplifted about $700 worth of vitamins from an Encinitas drugstore.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the shoplifting incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5 at Walgreens, 1320 Encinitas Blvd.
Officials say the store's surveillance video shows a man pacing the vitamin aisle and stuffing several cases of vitamins into the pockets of his cargo shorts. He reportedly walks out of the store without paying for the items. The front-door security alarms were triggered, but the cashier was helping another customer as the suspect walked out of the store.

The estimated loss to Walgreens was $700, according to the sheriff's department.
The suspected shoplifter was described as a black man who is about 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 300 pounds. He had brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue-and-gray shirt, tan cargo shorts and black-and-white Converse.
