Man Fatally Struck By Train In North County
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

DEL MAR, CA — A pedestrian was fatally hit by a train Monday in San Diego's coastal North County, authorities said.
A southbound North County Transit District Coaster train struck the man at 9:21 a.m. on the tracks at the west end of 12th street in Del Mar, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's Sgt. Jason King said. His name remained unconfirmed as of early Monday evening.

The San Diego Sheriff's Department Transit Enforcement Unit was investigating the incident. Anyone with information was asked to call the department's non-emergency line at 858-565-5200.
