Man Wanted For Spray-Painting 'Vulgar Slurs' At Encinitas School

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for vandalizing San Dieguito Academy High School in Encinitas.

ENCINITAS, CA — Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted for vandalizing a high school in Encinitas.

The suspect spray-painted "vulgar slurs" on the administration building at San Dieguito Academy High School at 800 Santa Fe Drive. The incident happened around 4 a.m. on New Year's Day and caused nearly $725 in damages, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect fled on foot toward Santa Fe Drive. The suspect was described as a thin man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark shoes. No other information was available.

Anyone with information was asked to call sheriff's Detective Monica De La Torre Chavez at 760-966-3504.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
