MiraCosta College Art Exhibit Questions the Photograph

MiraCosta College presents, Photograph, an art exhibit featuring the work of artists David Emitt Adams and Claire A. Warden.

MiraCosta College presents, Photograph, an art exhibit featuring the work of artists David Emitt Adams and Claire A. Warden. The show opens October 13 and continues through November 5 in the college’s Kruglak Gallery.

The exhibit features artwork that calls into question the definition of a photograph. Adams makes photographs on found objects using an historic process to consider the human interaction with natural environments. Warden draws on the fluidity of identity and the forces that influence it to inform her use of photography as an abstract medium.

David Emitt Adams has a BFA in photography from Bowling Green State University and an MFA in photography from Arizona State University. Based in Tempe, Arizona, his work has been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad, including the Soho Photo Gallery in New York and The Studio in London. Adams was selected for the prestigious Lens Culture International Exposure Award 2011 and most recently was awarded the Freestyle Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Achievement in Black and White Photography.

Claire A. Warden works out of Phoenix, Arizona, and received her BFA in photography and BA in art history from Arizona State University. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and abroad, including the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco, the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Soho Photo Gallery in New York, Agripas 12 Gallery in Jerusalem, Galería Valid Foto in Barcelona, and Students’ City Cultural Center Gallery in Belgrade.
