MiraCosta College to Hold Fundraiser Concert

MiraCosta College's Umoja Community will hold its 2nd annual fundraiser, Soul Fusion.

Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the college’s Concert Hall. The evening will feature a silent auction and a concert combining jazz, gospel, and R & B. Performers for the evening will include David Dredden & Undefeated, vocalist TJ Wilkins, and MiraCosta’s Frequency Vocal Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Matt Falker. Master of ceremonies will be Ant Black.

Umoja, a Kiswahili word meaning unity, is a community and critical resource dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African-American and other students. The Umoja community seeks to engage, connect, educate, support and encourage students through a curriculum of math, history and personal growth courses to prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

Admission is $10. The silent auction will be held at 4 p.m., and the concert at 5 p.m. The Concert Hall is located at MiraCosta College, Building 2400, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside.
