The MCCSO will present its third concert of the season featuring primarily French composers. The program will begin with the impressionistic The Afternoon of a Faun from Claude Debussy’s sonic rendering of the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, which is based on the poem “L’apres-midi d’un faune” by Stephan Mallarme. Principal violist George Volkov will perform as soloist with the orchestra in selections from Hector Berlioz’ Harold in Italy. The program will also feature Music Department associate faculty member Steven Traugh, who will present his Fanfare and Dance for Percussion Ensemble and Orchestra. The final presentation of the evening will be Cesar Franck’s mighty Symphony in D minor. This promises to be a very special program. Branden Muresan, conductor. Concert Hall (OC2400), 1 Barnard Dr., Oceanside.

Tickets: general admission, $10; students/seniors $8. Tickets are available online at miracosta.edu/buytix or call the Box Office at 760.795.6815.
