MiraCosta's Technology Career Institute to Hold Open House

To celebrate its first anniversary, MiraCosta College’s Technology Career Institute (TCI) will hold its 2nd Annual Open House on Saturday, March 5, 9:30 a.m.– noon, at the facility, which is located at 2075 Las Palmas Drive in Carlsbad.

MiraCosta’s TCI facility houses the programs that train skilled workers for such industries as high-tech manufacturing, maritime technology and high threat security. The institute expanded the college’s machinist certificate program and offers industry-recognized electronics engineering technician and electronic assembly programs. 

The building also houses the San Diego North Small Business Development Center, which provides resources, workshops and leadership programs for growing and established small businesses.

The Open House will feature:

• Tours every 30 minutes
• Detailed overview of programs.
• Funding presentation by the North County Coastal Career Center.
• Engineering technician demonstrations and activities at 10 and 11 a.m. (all ages welcome)
• Machinist technology demonstrations and activities at 10 and 11 a.m. (all ages welcome)

• Information will be available about the Community Learning Center and MiraCosta College’s credit programs
