Motorcyclist Dies On Encinitas Boulevard After Striking Telephone Pole

ENCINITAS, CA — A motorcyclist succumbed to injuries after striking a telephone pole Sunday morning eastbound on Encinitas Boulevard, sheriff's officials said Monday.

Deputy David Drake of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department described the crash that happened just after 8:15 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Encinitas Boulevard.

"Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the solo motorcycle rider died of his injuries," Drake said.

An investigation into the crash was ongoing and anyone who may have information on the collision was asked to call the North Coastal Sheriff's Station Traffic Division at 760-966-3500.
