Authorities Tuesday released the name of a 24-year-old motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Encinitas.

SAN DIEGO - Authorities Tuesday released the name of a 24-year-old motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Encinitas.
Christopher Isaacs of San Diego was riding south when a silver car struck his motorcycle near Santa Fe Drive about 5 p.m. Friday, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office. The impact caused Isaacs to tumble onto the roadway, where he was run over by a big rig, witnesses told the California Highway Patrol.
The victim died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the involved car did not stop following the fatal crash, the CHP reported.
