O-Side Cops Seeking Killer Of 35-Year-Old

The man was gunned down Tuesday night in an incident not believed to be "random."

OCEANSIDE, CA - Homicide detectives sought today to determine who gunned down a 35-year-old man during a late-night argument outside a coastal North County home.

Officers responding to reports of a disturbance followed by gunfire found the victim on the ground near a sidewalk in the 400 block of South Freeman Street in Oceanside shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The man died at the scene. His name was withheld pending family notification.

As of late this morning, investigators had no description of the killer, who apparently had some sort of relationship with the victim."Detectives are investigating the possibility that the victim and (shooter) knew each other,'' police spokesman Ryan Keim said. "At this point, they do not believe it was a random act.''
