Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train Friday in Encinitas.
The North Coastal Transit District Coaster train struck the person at about 8:30 a.m. near the La Costa Avenue overpass, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's Deputy Christopher Campbell said. The person's name, age and gender were not released.
