Pedestrian Killed In Encinitas Crash

The woman died at the scene.

ENCINITAS, CA — A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday evening while crossing a road in Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded at 7:16 p.m. Friday to the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte following a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said a man driving a 2025 Nissan Z was traveling west on El Camino Del Norte when his vehicle struck a woman who was crossing the roadway. The woman died at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not believed to have been factors in the collision. The crash remained under investigation.
