Person Killed During Multi-Vehicle Crash On Freeway In Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA — A person was killed Saturday morning during a multi- vehicle crash on the San Diego (5) Freeway in Encinitas, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 3 a.m. on the northbound freeway, just north of Leucadia Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash involved at least three vehicles, which included a black SUV, a Nissan Sentra and a Honda Civic, the CHP said.

There was no other immediate information available.

A SigAlert, issued at 3:17 a.m., remains in place while the investigation continues.
