Play Ball! Encinitas Little League Fall Ball Opens
The emphasis will be on instruction and preparing players to move up to the next division.
While the NFL gets down to business on Sunday, another local sports organization will be marking a new season as well.
The Encinitas Little League Fall Ball season gets under way at the Ecke Park baseball fields on Saxony Road. ELL organizes and runs the Fall Ball season, which is also open to Little Leaguers from Encinitas National Little League.
The goal of the fall program is to get players an extra 12 or 13 ballgames in fall, with an emphasis on instruction and preparing players to move up to the next division for their spring 2012 season.

There are more than 150 Encinitas youngsters signed up for Fall Ball, with games played on Fridays and Sundays.
