Missing Man: Police Seek Missing Encinitas Man Last Seen In Escondido

BREAKING: Brian Gregory Smith, 70​, was last seen in December when he checked out of a medical rehabilitation facility in Escondido. ​

ENCINITAS, CA – The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing man who was last seen in December when he checked out of a medical rehabilitation facility in Escondido.

Police said Brian Gregory Smith, 70, does not have a car or a permanent address, but he had been living in Encinitas and spends most of his time in the North County area. Smith was last seen on Dec. 21, 2016, when he checked out of a medical rehabilitation facility in Escondido.

"He has not been seen or heard from since," officials said in an alert on Thursday. "Family members reported him missing to the North Coastal Sheriff's Station in late January."

Smith is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, according to an alert issued by the department.
