The San Diego Foundation will launch its new office in Escondido with an open house on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The new Raymond Family North County Office of The San Diego Foundation, named after esteemed Escondido resident Jack Raymond and his family, including wife Caroline, and daughters Rebecca and Midge, is located at 900 Canterbury Place, Ste. 300, Escondido, CA 92025. Bob Kelly, President and CEO of The San Diego Foundation, noted that, in 2007 and 2008, Jack Raymond served as Chairman of the Board of Governors for The San Diego Foundation; he was the first Escondido resident to hold that position, as well as the first Chairman from the inland region of North County. “For more than 20 years, Raymond has involved himself in boosting the identity of North County and advocating regional involvement,” said Kelly. “Jack has been a tremendous asset for The Foundation and our mission to promote and increase charitable giving through the region. His work in establishing The San Diego Foundation’s Escondido Charitable Foundation reflects his description of himself as ‘a devout regionalist.’" Raymond noted, “I have called Escondido home since 1943. I attended Escondido High School in 1956. My family lives here today. I am proud of this community and honored to donate this office space to The San Diego Foundation. I welcome its expanded presence in Escondido.” The Raymond Family North County Office of The San Diego Foundation will offer meeting space for community organizations as well as rentable office space for area nonprofits, and will serve as a hub for community engagement. It will also serve as the home of the Escondido Charitable Foundation, an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation that serves the unique needs of the Escondido community. Raymond was the Founding Chair of the Escondido Charitable Foundation and the foundation has raised more than $1.5 million for the Escondido community since 2007. Nonprofits as well as the public are encouraged to attend the open house. Please RSVP by Monday, June 17 to Brittany Bailey at brittanyb@sdfoundation.org or by calling (619) 814-1363.
