Register For Encinitas Junior Lifeguards, Summer 2023 Dates

ENCINITAS, CA —The City of Encinias is still accepting candidates for its Lifeguard Program for the summer of 2023.

The City of Encinitas Junior Lifeguard program is designed for boys and girls ages 9-17 to enhance their ocean skills with two-week sessions offered throughout the summer.

By combining education with recreation, participants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, snorkeling and skills competitions. The goal of the program is to educate young people in ocean and beach safety while building self-confidence and appreciation for the ocean environment.

Registration for this program opened in early March, according to the city.

• Session 1 - June 19-June 30
• Session 2 - July 3rd - July 14 (No Camp on July 4)
• Session 3 - July 17 - July 28
• Session 4 - July 31 - August 11

All sessions have a morning 9 a.m.-noon session and an afternoon 1 p.m.-4 p.m. session.

Participant fees are $350 for residents and $360 for non-residents. There is a non-refundable $10 swim test fee for all participants needing a swim test.
