Robbery Reported At Chevron Gas Station In Encinitas

A man with a pocket knife left the store in a vehicle with an unspecified amount of cash and cigarettes, authorities said.

ENCINITAS, CA — The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Tuesday responded to a robbery that happened at a Chevron gas station and convenience store in the Encinitas community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea.

According to the Sheriff Department Watch Commander's office, the incident was reported shortly before 5 a.m. at the Chevron, 805 Birmingham Drive. A male suspect entered the store brandishing a pocket knife, demanding money and cigarettes. He then left the store in a vehicle with an unspecified amount of cash and the cigarettes, authorities said.

Authorities said there were no injuries and added the suspect is described as Hispanic, but no further description of him or the vehicle was available. Detectives will investigate the incident, according to the Sheriff's Department.
