Still No Superintendent for San Dieguito Union High School District
"San Dieguito deserves the very best," said SDUHSD Board of Trustees President Beth Hergesheimer, of the continuing search.

ENCINITAS, CA — The search for a new, permanent superintendent for the San Dieguito Union High School District is ongoing, district officials said Friday.
SDUHSD's Board of Trustees has conducted interviews to replace former Superintendent Rick Schmitt — who announced in April that he was leaving for a job as superintendent of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in Northern California — but at this time, has not made a selection, according to a news release.
"San Dieguito deserves the very best," said Board President Beth Hergesheimer. "The Board of Trustees is committed to finding the perfect match for our district, teachers, students and community."

Eric Dill has been serving as interim superintendent since July and will continue to do so until the search is complete, district officials said Friday. Dill has been with the district since 2001 and was the associate superintendent of business services prior to his appointment as interim superintendent.
Hergesheimer said the board is pleased with Dill, noting that he, "brings stable, confident leadership from his years of experience and relationships throughout the district."

The district, which held community forums last spring about the superintendent search and collected community input through an online survey, said Friday that the public will be kept informed of the board's progress as the search continues.
Board trustees chose a firm, Leadership Associates, to conduct the search and advise them through the process.
The San Dieguito Union High School District serves seventh- through 12th-grade students in Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Cardiff, Rancho Santa Fe and surrounding areas. The district includes four high schools, five middle schools and a continuation high school.
