Surf Report & Forecast for August 17-18

Crossed-up, longboard-friendly swell.

A steep, long-period (15 seconds) south swell, mixed with a short-period west swell (7 seconds) is creating crossed-up short peaks, but every now and then, longer waist to chest high waves can be had.

Water temp is 65-66.

Winds this morning are mostly calm, at most 5 knots from the northwest and will likely stay below 10 knots, so it shouldn't get that choppy today.

Standout beach breaks that can pick up the steep south will probably see more consistent chest-high sets.

Tide comes in until noon, when it will be almost 5 feet. Low tide is at 6:00 p.m. at 1.6 feet.

Sunset: 7:32 p.m.
