Surf Report & Forecast for August 2-3

Continued small combo swell and cold water.

The New Moon of a couple days ago has caused some very low tides at dawn patrol. This morning's was -0.4 feet. Tide comes in until noon at 5.5 feet.

Waves are stuck in the knee to waist high range. Rare sets can see chest high longer lines, but most wavelengths are short.

Conditions look clean but as with the past few days, we're seeing spring-time like NW wind, which is responsible for the upwelling, resulting in plummeting water temperatures down to the low 60s.

Low tide is at 5:50 p.m. at 1.2 feet.

Sunset: 7:46 p.m.

NW winds will reach about 12 knots by late afternoon.

If you trunk it, even with the scorching sun today, you likely won't last long.

For tomorrow, Wednesday the 3rd, a new long-period SW swell will hopefully push wave heights up to four-feet and possibly head-high on the bigger sets. NW wind, though, will still be a factor.
