Surf Report & Forecast for Aug. 27-28

The SW/NW combo swell has backed off in size, leaving mostly 1- to 2-foot surf. Early morning conditions were slightly better by mid-morning—the high tide is preventing any push.

Tide peaked at 9:00 a.m. at 5 feet. Low tide is at 2:30 p.m. at 1.3 feet. With tomorrow’s new moon, we have a very high tide this evening: 7 feet at 8:30 p.m. 

Water temp is 64-66 (possibly colder and warmer in certain spots). 

Lines are peaky and rather short-lived this morning. Looks like a longboard kind of day, with the exception perhaps at standout beachbreaks. 

Winds are minimal as of early morning but will blow onshore at about 10 knots by early afternoon. 

For tomorrow, Sunday the 28th, high tide is once again inconveniently during mid-morning: 9:30 a.m. at 5.5 feet. Surf will be 1-2 feet.
