Surf Report & Forecast for August 3-4

Knee to waist high, short rides and cold.

Water temp is still frigid for this time of year as the upwelling shows no sign of abating. Call it 61-62; some pockets may be warmer.

Weak and lingering SW groundswell combines once again with NW windswell to produce inconsistent, peaky, short-wavelength rides in the knee to waist-high range.

As the tide fills in later this morning (high tide: 12:40 p.m. at 5.7 feet), there might be a narrow window of decent push, but otherwise, expect another day of several notches below epic conditions.

Evening low tide: 6:50 p.m. at 1.2 feet.

For tomorrow, Thursday the 4th, a more straight-westerly groundswell with shorter intervals is expected to fill in, albeit very short lived. Cross your fingers, but we might have some chest-high waves to surf.
