Surf Report & Forecast for August 9-10

Smaller than yesterday, rare 3-foot sets.

Is it the cool, thick marine layer that's keeping everyone out of the water or the lack of surf, or both? Probably both. It's smaller today than yesterday with only a few people out at the ususally crowded spots.

Three-foot SW sets every 15 minutes or so may make it worth paddling out, but there's not much in between energy.

All morning, there's be outgoing tidal energy, until well after noon. Low tide bottoms out at 2.5 feet at 12:30 p.m. High tide is at 6:50 p.m. at 6 feet; look for late afternoon sessions to have a bit more power and consistency.

Water temp is still well below normal at 63.

All in all, probably not worth a paddle out this morning, but hey, it beats being stuck in rush hour.

For tomorrow, Wednesday the 10th, don't expect much change from today, with weak 1-3 foot inconsistent mushburgers.
