Surf Report & Forecast for July 5-6

Ankle to knee high; occasional waist-high if you're lucky.

Right about now, the tide should start filling in nicely and will hopefully bump wave heights to waist high and above. This is a change from the 0-foot tide from earlier, which didn't cause enough swell energy to produce anything more than ankle to knee high.

High tide peaks at 1:30 p.m. at 4.6 feet.

Low tide: 7:00 p.m. at 2 feet

Winds are mostly calm right now but expected to pick up in a typical springtime pattern (will Spring ever end?), blowing in from the SW at 11-12 knots.

Think it's bad today? Tomorrow, the 6th, is supposed to be totally flat. Look for it to be Lake Pacific. Chances are you'll still find some waves to longboard or even an occasional waist-high beach break you can practice pulling off a trick. At least the weather has been nice!
