Surf Report & Forecast for July 9-10

Looking better finally; still inconsistent with rare chest- to head-high sets.

Finally, the surf report doesn’t call for flat to ankle high, but it’s by no means an epic day. There’s a slight wind already preventing premium glassy conditions. A long-period south swell has most everyone catching in between soft and short lines.

But every now and then, the south mixes with the lingering windswell, producing chest-high waves and perhaps on the better and rarer sets, head-high.

Water temp remains at 65.

Tide is going out from its dawn high of 1.8. Low tide is 1.8 feet at 10:00 a.m. Afternoon high: 5:00 p.m. at 5.8 feet.

If you’re going to surf the incoming tide in the early afternoon, winds won’t be totally calm but are not expected to reach more than 10 knots.

Sunset tonight: 8:01. (Sunsets are starting earlier now.)

For tomorrow, Sunday the 10th, expect the long-period south to be the dominant system for the next few days. Tomorrow will be mostly 2-3 feet, but depending on the swell angle, we may see some chest-high occasional pulses, or even perhaps head high.
