Surf Report & Forecast for June 21-22
Two- to three-foot sets might get better with incoming tide.

This morning's low tide is just starting to turn around and we could see a decent 45-60 minute window by late morning, pushing wave heights to head-high on some of the takeoffs and definitely chest-high on the shoulders.
It's a continuation of modest SW groundswell with a touch of NW windswell.
High tide is at 3 p.m. at 4.2 feet, so tide will be rising all day. Late in the afternoon, outgoing tide will be very gradual, finally reaching low at 2.5 feet at 8:45 p.m.

Summer solstice officially kicks in at 10:16 a.m., so happy summer! Or, my condolences, depending on your point of view. Summer time, of course, means more crowded surf.
Water temperature feels nice, especially when the sun is out. For those trunking it, you'll have no problem staying out for an hour or so. Call it 63 degrees. If the June gloom sticks around today, opt for the spring suit instead. I'm surprised by how many full suits there are in the water. We're halfway through June—and it's the first day of summer.

Sunset tonight: 8:02 p.m.; moonrise: 11:57 p.m.
For tomorrow, June 22, dawn patrol will once again be an outgoing mid-level tide and will hit low at 8:45 a.m. at 1 f00t. A new south swell is supposed to build late in the day, but chances are we won't see it until after dark. Expect similar wave heights to today—2 to 3 feet with the occasional 4-footer.
