Surf Report & Forecast for June 25-26

Inconsistent and soft 3- to 4-feet surf.

Afternoon sessions might see more power as the tide will be outgoing all morning. It’s overcast right now and being the weekend and summer, very crowded at most local breaks. Infrequent sets are running 2-3 feet with the occasional 4-footer whetting the appetite of weekend warriors in the water.

Water temp is not quite warm enough to trunk for most people on an overcast June-gloom day; call it 63.

Low tide hits at 11:00 a.m. at 2.2 feet. Methinks the push from noon to 2:00 p.m. will be the best time to go out. High tide hits at 6:00 p.m. at 5 feet.

Sunset tonight: 8:02 p.m.

As of now, it looks like an overhyped south swell was predicted, which happens quite a bit, unfortunately as Encinitas beaches are not exactly SW swell magnets. For tomorrow, Sunday the 26th, you'll once again find occasional chest- to head-high sets. They will be infrequent and perhaps walled up because of the swell angle.

Tide will be high at 7:50 a.m. at 3 feet; dawn patrol will be best time to go out, if you can drag yourself out of bed.
