Encinitas Surf Report & Forecast: Nov. 10-11

Flat today; different story, tomorrow.

With today's New Moon, morning sessions are flat with the very high tide of over 6 feet peaking at 8:00 a.m.

Even with a draining tide come late morning, most places will be flat, with the exception of an occasional 1 or 2 footer lapping close to shore. Peak low tide is at 3:00 p.m. at a (negative) -0.3 feet.

Water temp is 60. Winds are minimal from an offshore flow and should remain calm all day.

Sunset: 4:51 p.m.

For tomorrow, Friday 11-11-11, a medium-period west swell is due to arrive and by late morning we should see some head-high surf. As the afternoon rolls around, sets are predicted to be 5-6 feet, but this could possibly coincide with a big low-pressure system, although that may not arrive until after sunset. Good luck battling the crowds. Stay safe. And smile.
