Surf Report & Forecast for Oct. 5-6

NW picks back up, but strong south winds and rain expected later.

There's some waist to chest high waves occasionally rolling in, mostly crossed up peaks from a NW swell with underlying SW weak pulses.

If you wait till late morning, form could get pretty bad with SW winds expected to peak well beyond 20 knots.

Low tide is fully drained at roughly the same time the winds will really start picking up: 11:40 a.m. at 2.6 feet. By 5:30 p.m., when high tide rolls in, it could look like victory at sea. Tide will be just under 5 feet.

Water temp: still spring suit comfy in the low to mid-60s but with strong winds, expected, dust off the full suit for later.

Sunset tonight: 6:30 p.m.

For tomorrow, Thursday the 6th, head-high surf is very possible, but so are strong winds. Conditions will be questionable. Early morning sessions will probably be best, but good luck jockeying for position.
