Encinitas Surf Report & Forecast: Oct. 28-29

Will get fun as the tide drops.

Dawn patrol this morning produced some fun 2-3 foot sets but if you missed it, late morning sessions will be swamped out because of the almost 7-foot high tide that peaks at 10:00 a.m.

Winds are very light and even slightly offshore and hopefully will remain so for the duration, as it did yesterday.

We had some NW winds in the afternoon but most spots were blowing at least side offshore, producing perfectly groomed peelers. Expect the same today.

Early afternoon sessions should be drained enough to produce some fun sets. Low tide will bottom out at 5:15 p.m. at (negative) -1.2 feet.

Water temp is 60 degrees but after a couple minutes under a Santa Ana sun, it'll feel perfect.

Sunset tonight: one minute past 6:00 p.m.

For tomorrow, Saturday the 29th, modest energy sticks around, keeping waves in the waist to thigh-high range.
