Surf Report & Forecast for September 2-3

Still big sets pushing through; shoulder high to a couple feet overhead.

Plenty of surf continues today. Today looks a little mixed up with some weak NW ground swell as well as NW windswell preventing lines from connecting all the way in.

Not to say you won't score any long rides because standout breaks are still showing some nice clean faces and long lines, but you'll have to jockey with 100 other people for those rides.

Most other breaks are mostly walled up with the occasional short shoulder to ride if you're in the perfect spot.

Encinitas breaks look bigger than most breaks in Cardiff and points south towards Del Mar.

High tide approaches, peaking at 12:45 at 5.8 feet. Many spots are already showing the effects of the tide, killing any length of ride.

Overhead sets are still coming in with solid 8-foot faces.

If you want to try and thin out the herd at this like, send some surf friends you know this video link of a Great White spotted at Swami’s.

For tomorrow, Saturday the 3rd, the SW swell still serves plenty of head-high pulses, with some overhead, Most waves will be 4-6 feet with the occasional overhead bomb. Stay safe and when in doubt, don’t paddle out.
