Surf Report & Forecast for Sept. 26-27
Combo waist to chest high swell; high tides may dampen a.m. sessions.

High tide is smack dab in the middle of the morning (8:45 a.m. at 5.7 feet) and the combo SW/NW swell looks like it has potential but is lethargic right now with tomorrow's New Moon producing radically high tides (7 feet on Wednesday and Thursday mornings).
Maybe I'm being a killjoy by saying I wouldn't go in the water, not with recent beach closures in Del Mar and San Onofre due to sewage leaks, and not with the gnarliest, heaviest red tide in recent memory still lingering.
But if your sinuses can take it, all the more power to you.

Winds will be light for most of the day, picking up for a few hours in the early afternoon from the west. Tide will be low at 3:00 p.m. at 0.2 feet; evening high tide is at 9:00 p.m. at 5.7 feet.
There should be a head-high set wave or two during your session if you're patient enough and you're out at the right tide. Water temps are still at 64-65. Sunset tonight: 6:40 p.m.

For tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th, there's talk of a hurricane swell, but the conservative estimate keeps wave heights at around waist high.
