Suspects in Encinitas Jewelry Burglaries in Custody

BREAKING: Rob Scott, 53, was taken into custody in Nevada; Heidi Scott, 42, turned herself in, sheriff's officials said.

ENCINITAS, CA — Two people wanted in connection with two burglaries at Consignment Classics in Encinitas are in custody, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported Monday.

Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Eaton said tips from San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Sheriff's Department's social media accounts generated leads for the detectives. Loss is estimated at $80,000 in jewelry.

Rob Scott, 53, is in custody in Nevada after being arrested on Friday in connection with an alleged restaurant burglary in Lake Tahoe and his outstanding warrant in San Diego County, Eaton said.

"He will be extradited to San Diego to face charges," Eaton said. "He is facing commercial burglary charges."

Heidi Doyle, 42, left Nevada following Scott's arrest and turned herself in to detectives at the North Coastal Sheriff's Station on Friday, the sergeant said.

Doyle was booked into the Vista jail and had her initial court appearance Monday morning. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail on suspicion of charges including commercial burglary, identity theft and writing false checks.

The loss to Consignment Classics in the alleged burglaries was about $80,000 in jewelry, authorities said.

Scott and Doyle were identified Sept. 16 as the suspects in the Aug. 20 and Sept. 2 burglaries.
