Woman Accused Of Setting Fire At Her Parents Home In Encinitas
Stacey Eaton, 42, was arrested on suspicion of arson to an inhabited dwelling, elder abuse and a violation of a restraining order.

ENCINITAS, CA — A woman was arrested on suspicion of setting her parents' home on fire in northern San Diego County.
Deputies responded to a call around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday about smoke coming from a home in the 1400 block of Via Terrassa in Encinitas, according to a San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Firefighters put out a small blaze at the house.
There was no one home and deputies and firefighters thought the fire seemed suspicious, said sheriff's Sgt. Anthony Portillo. Detectives determined the cause of the fire to be arson and learned the victims and their daughter, Stacey Eaton, had gotten into an argument earlier that day.

Eaton, 42, was arrested several hours later after she was found hiding a couple blocks away from the home, Portillo said. She was booked at the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of arson to an inhabited dwelling, elder abuse and a violation of a restraining order.
The home suffered moderate smoke damage and the fire was confined to one room, Portillo said.
