Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Encinitas
The 54-year-old woman was crossing Mountain Vista Drive when she was struck by a car, officials said.

ENCINITAS, CA – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Encinitas Thursday evening.
Deputies responded around 6:40 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of Mountain Vista Drive and El Camino Real, where they found the victim and attempted lifesaving measures on her, but she died at the scene, according to Deputy Jason Ferguson of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
A preliminary investigation determined the 54-year-old woman was crossing Mountain Vista Drive when she was struck by a Toyota Corolla headed eastbound on Mountain Vista Drive, Ferguson said. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash.

The driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. No arrest was reported.
The crash remained under investigation.
