1 Dead, 5 Injured In 2-Car Crash That Shut Down Ventura Boulevard: Officials

ENCINO, CA — One person was killed and five more were injured in a two-vehicle crash at that has closed down Ventura Boulevard, fire officials said.

The collision happened at about 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Densmore Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Initially, authorities reported six people were injured in the collision and later said one person had died, according to KTLA 5.

Ventura Boulevard is expected to be shut down in both directions east and west of Densmore Avenue while crews work at the scene. Drivers should avoid the area and expect delays.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash.
