Jewish Community Foundation Speakers for Professional Advisors

LOS ANGELES (April 2, 2013)--The
Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles (The Foundation), the leader in
planned giving solutions for Greater Los Angeles Jewish philanthropists, will
again offer its annual complimentary educational series for professional
advisors scheduled in the San Fernando Valley from April 24 – Dec. 4, 2013.  The series, “Tax Planning and Charitable
Giving,” features industry experts in taxation, estate planning and charitable
gift planning, plus an opportunity for professional advisors to network with colleagues.

 

The
presentations are designed for professionals in the accounting, legal,
financial services and insurance fields.  All sessions are held from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30
a.m., and will include complimentary breakfast and parking.  Valley sessions will be held at the Warner
Center Marriott Hotel, 21850 Oxnard St., Woodland Hills.  MCLE credit and CPE credits are available.

“The
Foundation is pleased to once again host this series with prominent experts
presenting the latest information in tax planning and charitable giving,” said
Elliot B. Kristal, The Foundation’s vice president of charitable gift planning.
 “It’s crucial for professional advisors
to remain current. This series offers insights that assist Los Angeles
professional advisors in providing wise charitable planning counsel to their
clients.”

  • Wednesday, April 24 – “With Permanent
         Estate Tax Reform, What Makes Sense?” 
         Paul N. Frimmer of Loeb & Loeb LLP, will present the seminar.

  • Wednesday, May 22 – “Digital Death –
         How to Deal with your Digital Assets.” 
         Allan B. Cutrow and Marc E. Mayer, of Mitchell Silberberg &
         Knupp LLP, will team up to share their expertise.

  • Wednesday, June 19 – “Anatomy of a
         Life Insurance Trust – Nuts and Bolts.” Burton A. Mitchell, of Jeffer
         Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP, will conduct the seminar.  

  • Wednesday, Sept. 11– “Altering the
         Irrevocable Trust: Decanting and Other Trust Modifications.”  Laura K. Zeigler of Bessemer Trust will lead
         the session. 

  • Wednesday, Oct. 9 – “Fumbles and Foot
         Faults: Avoid Traps for the Unwary in Charitable Gift Planning.”  David Wheeler Newman of Mitchell
         Silberberg & Knupp LLP, will present the seminar.
  •  

    • Wednesday, Nov. 6 – “Recognizing and
           Planning for Substance Abuse.”  Erin
           L. Prouty of Hoffman, Sabban & Watenmaker will present the seminar.

  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 – “Recent
         Developments in Estate Planning.” 
         Speaker to be announced.
