At the Farmers Market: Gutierrez Family Produce
Each week, we'll be spotlighting a different vendor at the Encino Farmers Market.
Marta Aguirre and her husband Jorge Gutierrez run the Gutierrez Farm booth, which sells fresh fruits and vegetables. Every Sunday at 2:30 a.m., they drive from San Louis Obsipo to the Encino Farmers Market. The Gutierrez family has been providing produce for the Farmers Market for 16 years.
Originally from El Salvador, the couple works on a farm and now teaches their two daughters the art of growing crops. Thought the economy has taken a toll on the family business, they still make the trek to the Encino Farmers Market.
"Thanks to God, everything we have sells well," she said.
