A car crashed into Uncle Bernie’s Deli in Encino tonight, but no one was injured.
The crash was reported at 8:07 p.m. at 17615 Ventura Blvd., near White Oak Avenue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Uncle Bernie’s Deli, which is divided into a deli and a dining area, was open at the time of the crash, said manager Karen Devers.

The structural integrity of the building was not affected, although the car did punch a hole in an exterior wall when it plowed through a bush and into the building, Devers told City News Service.
“Thank God nobody was injured,” she said, adding that a customer had just picked up an order and walked away from the deli counter when the car came through the wall.

The driver reported having difficulty with the vehicle’s clutch, Devers said.
He was not arrested and was able to drive the vehicle from the scene, she said.
The restaurant remained open after the crash and will be open for business again in the morning, Devers said.
