Coroner IDs Apparent Drowning Victim

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA -- A woman apparently drowned today in a residential swimming pool in the Valley Glen area near North Hollywood.

Paramedics sent to the 5900 block of North Saint Clair Avenue at 9:05 a.m. found the woman dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

She was identified as Tessy Ferrando, 47, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter. It was not immediately known if she lived there.

An autopsy was pending to determine her cause of death, Winter said.
