Encino Couple Donates $400,000 For CSUN Nursing Scholarships

ENCINO-TARZANA, CA — A couple from Encino donated $400,000 toward nursing program scholarships at California State University, Northridge after their donations have already benefitted nearly 60 students, according to the university.

The $400,000 from Dale and Carol Simpma will help push students who already have bachelor's degrees in different fields through an accelerated, 15-month program to get their bachelor of science in nursing.

Dale Simpma surprised students with the scholarships on a recent Zoom call.

The couple has already donated $180,000 for nursing scholarships in the past, but Dale Simpma told CSUN Today the pandemic emphasized the importance of such a scholarship.
