The Bromeliad Plant Society meets the 1st Saturday of each month. Guest speakers cover a variety of plants from many different countries with beautiful photography. Monthly meetings include educational show and tell of interesting plants, raffles and refreshments.

The Serengeti is a geographical region in Africa north of Tanzania and is often referred to as one of the ten natural travel wonders of the world. Duke has traveled with friends to Africa many times photographing and studying plants. His presentation will include photos taken last year when he spent a month there enjoying the plants, mammals, birds and other wildlife.

Duke was Director of the Cactus & Succulent Society of America in 1990 and has served many other positions including Editor of the Cactus & Succulent Journal. He mostly grows succulents but recently started collecting Bromeliads. He enjoys flora, fauna, traveling, photography and sharing those experiences with others.
