Firefighters Airlift Injured Hiker Near Tarzana
A hiker injured her ankle and had to be airlifted to safety in the Santa Monica Mountains.
TARZANA, CA --A woman hiking along the Caballero Canyon Trail injured her ankle and had to be hoisted up by helicopter and airlifted to the hospital Thursday night.
The 50-year-old was hiking along the Caballero Canyon Trail in the Santa Monica Mountains near Tarzana when she hurt her ankle and had to call for help. The Los Angeles Fire department arrived on the scene at about 7:30 p.m., said Brian Humphrey department spokesman.
“The hiker has been rescued, and she taken to an area hospital for a non-life-threatening, injury,” Humphrey said.
